Start With Standards . . . But Don't Stop There

It is vital that your curriculum meet the basic educational needs of your classroom. Because of this, all lessons in Different By Design are based on state and national standards. Every lesson begins with a "Skills" section that clearly outlines which standards are being adressed in the day's lesson. You can be confident that the children in your classroom are gaining the valuable skills they will need in each content area.

With Different By Design, however, we take education a step further. While the various state and national standards are crucial, they are viewed as a minimal requirement for what children should be learning. We want to encourage your class to excel in higher level thinking, problem solving, and to develop a love of learning. It is our goal that your children not just meet a standard to progress to the next grade level, but be challenged to reach their highest potential.
