    About the Authors

    Kim A. Howe M.S.

    Kim A. Howe has been an educational consultant for school systems where she has taught certification courses for elementary, middle and high school teachers pursuing licensure in gifted education. She also served as a Curriculum Development Specialist at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Kim is co-author of Making Choices: A Social Skills Development Program. Kim received her MS from Texas A&M University College Station in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Gifted and Talented Education. Kim has worked in gifted programming in schools in North Carolina and Texas. Kim has been a freelance writer for The Mailbox Teacher Magazine and The Bookbag. She is also a contributing author for Building Math Basics and Super Science Investigations.

    Caroline C. Eidson Ph.D.

    Caroline C. Eidson has co-authored three books about curriculum differentiation, is currently working on a fourth one, and speaks regularly on the topic to elementary, middle-school, and high-school teachers at the local, state, and national levels as well as to pre-service teachers in undergraduate and graduate programs. She earned her doctorate in Educational Psychology at the University of Virginia and has taught and administrated in public and private schools for over 12 years. Caroline co-founded a school for gifted learners, led another school’s accreditation efforts, and has served on school evaluation teams. She also designed and continues to teach web-based courses on curriculum differentiation. Her other staff development expertise includes curriculum development, classroom management, concept-based teaching, and educating gifted learners. She has several publications in the field of gifted education to her credit.

    Jenny Murray M.Ed.

    Jenny Murray holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in elementary education from William and Mary. She did her Master’s work in reading and education models that help struggling readers. She taught both fifth and first grades in Wake County, NC before joining the Duke School in 2000 as a preschool teacher. She began teaching second grade in 2002 and has presented at conferences for engineering education and writing curriculum.
